In many industries, commercial hydrochloric acid is used for pickling purposes, since it cost less to buy & use than the proprietary products; quite rightly so. However use of such acids carries the risk of acid fumes pervading the shop area attacking the environment {both metals and buildings}, cause discomfort and health hazard to personnel.

PICKLAID is a specially formulated an organic, liquid, cationic corrosion inhibitor especially designed to inhibit the attack of hydrochloric acid on metals during industrial cleaning operations.

PICKLAID by its inhibiting effect substantially retard the metal attack by the acid.

PICKLAID helps in suppressing considerably the evolution of acid fumes.

PICKLAID also helps in the removal of residual oils and other superficial impurities on the metal surface. By eliminating the oil barrier from the surface PICKLAID makes the acid medium more effective and economical.

PICKLAID does not contain arsenic, chlorinated hydrocarbons, or lead compounds.



pH : 3.5 - 4.5

Used at 0.1% to 0.5 v/v of HCl

PICKLAID is stable for long periods of time. It is effective from room temperature to very high temperatures.

PICKLAID is added each time the acid is added.

Amine Based Corrosion Inhibitor

CI – OFT is a modified amine type additive designed to protect all Oil Field Tubular Goods. 

CI – OFT helps prevent general corrosion attack on casing, tubing and downhole tools in contact with clear completion brines.

CI – OFT is a water soluble film forming amine that can be used at temperatures upto 350 deg F.


CI – OFT is normally added in the ratio of 12-16 lts per 1000 ltrs of brine fluid.


CI – OFT can be directly added to the brine without the assistance of any special mixing equiplent or agitation.


CI – OFT protects metal surfaces both in the shallow upper parts in the well and in the deeper hotter areas where the temperature touches 350 deg F.


CI – OFT is compatible with sodium, pottasium, calcium, and zinc brines.

CI – OFT is packed in 210 lts HMHDPE barrels.

Corrosion Inhibitor

CI – MCP is a corrosion inhitor designed to prevent oxygen related corrosion – the most common form of corrosion in drilling fluids. 

CI – MCP is water soluble, organo phosphorous compound, a film forming, passivating type of inhibitor for matal surfaces. It does not usually require an Oxygen Scavenger. 


CI – MCP being pottasium based product, is compatible with pottasium based systems.


CI – MCP is effective even at temperatures in excess of 350 deg F.


CI – MCP is an amber coloured liquid, with a pH of 1% solution between 7- 8.5.


CI – MCP is effective relatively at low concentrations and should be evenly dispersed throughout the circulating system.

CI – MCP is initially dozed at .5 to 1 lt per 1000 lts. If the corrosion rate is higher, then the concentration can be increased even upto 2 lts per 1000 lt. 

CI – MCP is packed in 210 lts HMHDPE barrels.

Descaler – SAB is a powdered sulfamic acid blend with corrosion inhibitors and wetting agents designed for cleaning heat transfer surfaces.

Descaler – SAB is used as a descaler for either boiler water, cooling water or heat exchange systems. Descaler – SAB can be used to clean a cooling water system while in operation or the condenser can be isolated. Optimum results are obtained when boiler water is heated to 120-150° F for on-line cleaning.

Descaler – SAB comes aspowder and so, before use, it has to be dissolved in water. Even though Descaler – SAB works effectively from 3%, the accurate concentrationwill depend on the actual quantity of scale and the nature of scale that is present in the equipment. Concentration between 3% and 10% is generally recommended.

Pickling And Passivation Of Stainless Steel

Pickling is the removal of any high temperature scale and any adjacent low chromium layer of metal from the surface of stainless steel by chemical means. The lower chromium content gives lower corrosion resistance. To restore the best corrosion resistant performance, the damaged metal layer must be removed, exposing a fully alloyed stainless steel surface. Pickling solutions also remove contaminants such as ferrous and ferric oxide particles. All pickling operations result in metal removal, and the outcome is therefore to some degree a dulling of the visual brightness and perhaps also a significant reduction in dimensions.

For components which can be dipped you can use liquid Pickler SS. 

Pickler SS also comes as paste form. It is a very convenient method for pickling Stainless Steel. This is a prepared mix in a stiff paste which enables it to be applied to small areas and to vertical or even overhanging surfaces. It is especially useful for pickling to remove heat tint following welding, the underlying chromium depleted layer as well as residual slag in 10-45 minutes.


If passivation is not carried out, stainless steel can rust due to surface free iron, and since chlorides are also often absorbed from the atmosphere, some ferric chloride will be produced. Prolonged contact with ferric chloride will eventually initiate pitting and crevice corrosion on the stainless steel surface.


PASSIFYER SS enhances the passivation process in a more uniform manner to restore the chrome oxide film and help to prevent future corrosion following installation of the fabricated product. It is used at room temperature, as supplied or can be diluted with one part of water. The time duration varies from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.


PASSIFYER SS also comes both in liquid and paste form.
